Level 2 and Level 3 Animal Care or Animal Management placements

Applications have now closed for our September 2026 intake of Level 2 and Level 3 Animal Care or Management students. 

Animal Husbandry EMS placements for veterinary students

Our summer 2026 EMS spots are now fully booked. We are currently accepting enquiries for Christmas 2026 and 2027 animal husbandry EMS placements (1 or 2 weeks).

Please note: We do not offer clinical placements.

About the animal care placements

Our placement programmes will provide you with a well-rounded insight into the life of our amazing Animal Care team.

You shadow our Animal Carers and support them in their animal husbandry duties: cleaning the kennels, cattery pods and animal exercise areas; washing up food and water bowls; helping to prepare feeds and enrichment activities and socialising our cats and dogs.

Feedback from a past student:

"I was surprised by the opportunities provided to me throughout the year, and I gained experience and skills in helping animals. 

I particularly enjoyed seeing cats' progression each visit and eventually seeing them leave for adoption as a rehabilitated, happy cat."

Starting a career in animal care

There are excellent local colleges offering animal care, management and behaviour studies. Start a course with them, and you could soon find yourself in a placement with our team!

As a guide, when we recruit for Animal Carers we are looking for people who have completed at least the equivilant of NVQ Level 2 in an animal care subject.
